Hurt skiing, snowboarding, riding, or running? Dr. Jason and Dr. Nichole Casto treat sports injuries in South Lake Tahoe, for locals and visitors. Dr. Jason skis and does CrossFit, so he knows what you want to get back to.

Sound familiar?

Tell us what happened and what you want to get back to. We build your care from there.

  • A fall on the hill left your back or neck stiff and sore
  • A spill on the trail or a long climb up Powerline, and now something hurts
  • Tight hamstrings, IT band, or calves from riding and running
  • Neck and upper back tension after long rides
  • A shoulder, knee, or heel that hurts every time you train
  • An old injury that flares up every season

How we help you get back out there

Dr. Jason specializes in sports injuries. He treats rotator cuff problems, plantar fasciitis, disc herniations in the neck and low back, and carpal tunnel.

Myofascial release first
Training and falls leave muscles and the tissue around them tight. We use targeted pressure while you move to loosen the IT band, hamstrings, calves, upper back, and shoulders.
Gentle, targeted adjustments
Once the muscles relax, we adjust the joint. Releasing the tissue first helps your adjustment hold longer.
MLS Laser Therapy
For sprains, strains, and swelling, the laser calms pain and inflammation. Most sessions take 10 to 15 minutes. About the laser
Help between visits
We use Rock tape to support a sore joint or muscle while you stay active. We also use tissue scraping and band exercises to build strength.

Questions people ask

Can a chiropractor help with a sports injury?

Dr. Jason and Dr. Nichole treat sprains, strains, and sore joints from skiing, snowboarding, riding, running, and training. Your first visit starts with an exam, so we can tell you what we find and how we would help. If you need imaging, the doctor may order x-rays.

I’m visiting South Lake Tahoe. Can I come in?

Yes. We see visitors as well as locals. Book online to see open times, or call (530) 543-1201 and we’ll help you find one.

Do you see young athletes?

Yes. Kids and teens who play sports see us as part of their training. Care is gentle and fits their age.

What is myofascial release?

Fascia is the connective tissue around your muscles. Hard training can leave it tight, which can cause pain and limit how you move. Myofascial release uses targeted pressure while you move to loosen it. It pairs well with your adjustment, and you can also book it as its own 15-minute session.

Should I try the laser for my injury?

MLS Laser Therapy can help with sprains, strains, and swelling. Your doctor will tell you if it fits your injury. Learn about MLS Laser Therapy.

Does insurance cover sports injury care?

Most insurance plans are accepted at our office. We check and explain your coverage before your first visit, at no charge.
